Medicaid Clients

Do you have Medicaid? If so, you can receive tobacco medications to help you quit using tobacco such as nicotine patches, gum, nasal spray or inhaler, Chantix and Zyban.

You can get two 90-day treatment supplies each year. It's FREE for pregnant women, clients under age 18 and nursing home patients. For all other clients, there is a $1 co-pay for generic medicines and a $3 co-pay for brand name medicines.

To take advantage of your benefit, call your health care provider today to get your prescription and Medicaid approval, and enroll in a tobacco cessation program, such as the FREE Colorado QuitLine telephone coaching program (1-800-QUIT-NOW or 1-800-784-8669).

Are you pregnant? If so, the Colorado QuitLine has a FREE, special program to help you quit smoking during pregnancy and stay quit after your baby is born.

  • Up to nine personal coaching calls to help you quit during your pregnancy and after your baby is born
  • The same, specially trained coach to work with you during each call
  • Text messages to help you during your quitting process
  • A REWARD card you can use to buy things for you and your baby
